Music cd drive thingy problem

so i want to make an audio cd. but i want to put 52 songs on it. they are only 270 megabytes combined and the cd is 700 mb so i thought it'll work. it didn't. it also said it was only 80 minutes. it will only put 80 minutes of music on there regardless of size. after writing the cd i looked at it and the entire thing was written. i also wrote another cd but i made it a data cd. it stored all of the songs easy with over 400 mb to spare. why?

you has confused too. :/ the cd says it holds 80 minutes of audio. what i wanted to put on it was over three hours of basshunter but it was under 700 mb so i thought it would work.

okay so i understand that now. and i accept it. but what's confusing is you know how you can see where the cd has been written to? well on the first of three audio cds it was filled all the way and on the data cd it was filled a little less than half. so i assume it stores it differently?

Well it depends. cause if you plan to make it a music cd then it goes by minutes. if a data cd then it goes by megabites

wow thanks. but that still SUCKS! on the data cd it didn't even take up half but on the audios it took up three full ones. oh well. close please!
